Trauma Course

Trauma will be explored across five episodes.

The first episode gives a broad introduction, then there are episodes to help specifically with:

    •    shock and acute trauma

    •    dissociation and fragmentation

    •    appeasing and pleasing patterns

    •    body issues and boundaries

The signature posture of trauma varies. Movements can be either abrupt and defensive or minimal and withdrawn. Often there is a sense that the body is organised around protection.

These patterns are not weaknesses. They are intelligent survival adaptations intended to limit harm.

Through carefully titrated, trauma-informed movement — rhythm, orienting, grounding through the feet, reclaiming choice in gesture, rebuilding range slowly and safely — the body and emotions can begin to experience an expansion of possibilities. The aim is not to “fix” trauma, but to restore flexibility, agency, and embodied safety over time.
